Senior Platform Engineer

We’re working with a well-established financial services organisation expanding its engineering presence in Ireland and looking to hire a Senior Platform Engineer for their growing Platform & Infrastructure team.

This is a platform engineering role focused on building and evolving the core services that support engineering teams. Rather than owning delivery pipelines, you’ll be responsible for the platform foundations they rely on — including Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, identity, networking, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop a multi-tenant Kubernetes platform (AKS)
• Build and maintain shared services within the internal developer platform
• Define Terraform standards and reusable infrastructure patterns
• Support cloud security, policy-as-code, and zero-trust initiatives
• Mentor team members and contribute to technical direction
• Participate in platform incident response and on-call support

Requirements

• Strong public cloud experience (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP considered)
• Proven experience managing Kubernetes platforms in production
• Strong Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code expertise
• Python experience for automation and tooling
• Hands-on GitOps experience (ArgoCD or similar)
• Strong cloud networking knowledge
• Experience with policy tools such as Kyverno or OPA
• Experience working within regulated environments

Desirable: CKA/CKS, cloud certifications, Vault, Cilium, financial services experience.

Salary: Up to €110,000 DOE
Location: Hybrid – primarily remote with occasional travel to Kerry
